ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY: The Granville community is a rural area where one will find the eastern hub of Washington County. In addition to the library, Granville offers two museums. The Pember Museum of Natural History which is just upstairs and the Slate Valley Museum that is just a few minutes away. The Norton Corporation, the Telescope Company, slate quarries, Price Chopper and the prisons in Comstock serve as major employers in the community.
